A parent and advocate for public schools
Meghna Roy is a Round Rock ISD parent, community volunteer, and advocate for student-centered stewardship of our district resources. She is running for place 5 to bring the focus back to student success and belonging for all. Meghna strongly believes that RRISD can be the destination district in Texas that produces unparalleled graduates.
Academic pursuit with a focus on supporting development of the whole child is foundational to her household. Both parents have volunteered with the district since their eldest started kindergarten at Elsa England in 2015.
As a Chief Product & Technology Officer, Meghna understands the importance of rigorous academics, strong CTE pathways, and stellar extracurriculars, and how they shape a student's future. In a safe and supporting environment that recognizes students' needs along with world class opportunities, that is "Excellence with Empathy".

Student-Centered Success
Academic excellence and strong CTE as top priority to produce unparalleled RRISD graduates
- •Certify and support teachers to deliver Advanced Academics and CTE at every campus
- •Build the pipeline with early literacy and hands-on STEM in every elementary and middle school. The door to AP, dual credit, and technical certifications opens in third grade, not senior year
- •Support the whole child so every student can take the harder course. Safe campuses and mental health support aren't separate from academics; they're what makes the tougher class survivable.
Parent and Teacher Partnership
Families deserve a real seat at the table. Great schools are built by supported educators.
- •Feedback that goes somewhere. Commitment that what comes in gets answered — not collected and filed.
- •Attract and keep talented teachers and staff so every student has a stable, experienced classroom team
- •Trust our teachers and librarians. Their professional judgment, not political pressure, should guide what we put in front of students. Parents will always have a say in what their own child reads; no one gets to make that call for everyone else's
Fiscal Accountability
Restore rigorous budget oversight for taxpayer stewardship so every dollar reaches classrooms, teachers, and students
- •Protect classroom funding by separating wants from needs. Find ways to recover $570 per student on instructional spend
- •Audit vendor contracts and recurring spending. A water fountain installed under a bond shouldn't cost more than the ones parents donate
- •Restore line-item budget transparency for the public. Focus on efficiencies while hoping the funding available for vouchers can find its way to public schools too
Community
Strong schools protect our investment — they protect our home's value, our tax dollars, and the vibrant community we all share, whether one has a child in a classroom or not
- •Keep every taxpayer dollar accountable and focused on student needs so that everyone has a hand in shaping the future through RRISD students
- •Support schools that protect property values and attract local businesses
- •Create clear channels for all community members to engage with district decisions
